Warnick, Zula - Houston Zula Criddle Warnick, 109, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Floy Dyer Nursing Home in Houston. She was born February 16, 1906 in Chickasaw county to James Madison (Jim) Criddle and Emma Ella Smith Criddle. She was the oldest resident of Chickasaw County and on her birthday, she was the third oldest resident in the state. She worked at Proctor and Gamble Ammunition Plant during World War II and at Rice Stixs Garment Industry. She also worked at Houston Elementary School attending the sick room and was self-employed as a private sitter. She was a member of Faith Bible Church.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 26, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Cherry officiating. Burial will follow at Chickasaw Memorial Gardens in Houston.
Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty four years, Marshall John Warnick; son, John Edward (Billy) Warnick; brothers, Brad Criddle, Joe Criddle, Vic Criddle, Frank Criddle, Jessie Criddle, Scott Criddle, Woodrow Criddle, Davis Criddle, and John Shelton (Node) Criddle; sister, Nollie Huffman.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home in Houston.
Pallbearers are: Bill Criddle, Mickey Maranto, John Moore, Jimmy Morris, Jr., James R. Criddle, and Rob Criddle.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Gary Huffman, Frank Criddle, Buddy Criddle, and James R. Criddle.
