Winburn Wofford
Mantee- Winburn Simpson Wofford Sr., 88, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017, at Twilight Nursing Home in Corsicana, Texas. He was born on June 9, 1929 to John Quince Wofford and Edna Inez McCoy Wofford. Mr. Wofford was a retired Navy veteran for 30 years where he served as a 1 ^st class Aviation Machinist in the Korean and Vietnam War. Winburn Wofford Sr. was a member of Mantee Baptist Church in Mantee, Mississippi.

The Funeral Service will be, Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Houston Funeral Home in Houston with Rev. William Carpenter officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mantee, Mississippi.

Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Harmon Wofford of Mantee, MS, his daughters, Sandra Mermella of Stephenville, TX., and Katherine (Richard) Curtis of Grandberry, TX., his sons, Simpson Wofford Jr. of Mantee, MS., and Don (Marla) Wofford of Corsicana, TX., his brother, John Quince Wofford Jr. of Hernando, TX., and his grandchildren, Michelle Shannon (Kelly James Tull) Angie Shannon, Bentley Curtis, Tara Curtis, Chelsea Wofford (Justin Knight) Don Wofford Jr., Cadee Wofford, his great-grandchildren, Mia Guzman, Bailey Heddins, Emberly Romero, Kailey Broadway, Angie Young, Addisyn Knight, Kynslee Knight, Jhaxsyn Knight, Zoie Wofford and Nicholas Burns.

Mr. Wofford is preceded in death by his parents, and one grandson, Kevin Wofford.

Pallbearers will be Steve Conner, Mark Wofford, John L. Wofford, Michael Witherspoon, Dan Witherspoon, and Max Johnson.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Houston Funeral Home in Houston, Mississippi.
