Wayne "Tootie" Munlin
Houlka- Wayne Earl "Tootie" Munlin, 94, passed away April 23, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Mr. Munlin was born on May 4, 1923 to Sidney Robert Munlin and Ollie Itera Nolan Munlin.
Wayne served in the 82nd Chemical Mortar Battalion and served in the Pacific Theater during WW ll. He was a talented self-taught swing jazz piano player and instilled a love for music to many. He took the time with family to race go-carts, fish, hunt, build boats, dune buggies, and teach mechanics, welding, electrical and could repair or build anything. He rode motorcycles and horses. He and Dovie amazed many with their jitterbug dancing. His work ethic was from sunup to sundown and rubbed off on all his kids. He would take time to help you but never asked for help in return. He was a Mason, Shriner and a member of First Baptist Church Houlka, MS. His occupations varied from a lab technician for Texaco, farmer, machinist and plant manager for Ark-Ell Springs.
