Walter Eugene Sistrunk, born on October 6, 1956, in Florida, passed away on August 1, 2026, in Tupelo. Throughout his 69 years, Walter touched the lives of his family and those who had the privilege to know him with his quiet strength and steadfast love.

He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn Sistrunk. Walter’s dedication to his family was evident in the care and pride he showed for his children. His sons, Silas Morgan, Michael Sistrunk, Neill Sistrunk, and Paul Morgan, carry forward his spirit and memory. Walter was also a cherished brother to Brenda Landry and Carlos Sistrunk, and he took enormous joy and pride in his beloved grandchildren, who brought him countless smiles and immeasurable joy over the years.

Walter is preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter and Mariam Sistrunk; his brothers, David Sistrunk and Michael Sistrunk; and his sister, Kathryn Rimer. Their memories are held dear by all who remain.
