Virginia Lucille Johnson Martin, 89, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at Floy Dyer Nursing Home in Houston, MS. She was born on March 29,1928 in Thorn, Mississippi to Claude Gilbert Johnson and Rena Mae Moore Johnson. She was a seamstress at Rice Stix and a member of Thorn Church of God.

The Funeral Service will be Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Thorn Church of God in Thorn, Mississippi with Rev. Arnold Amason officiating.

Burial will be at Ellzey Cemetery in Calhoun County, MS.

Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Rosie Lynn Jones of Houston, her sons, Larry (Reva) Martin of Houston, Toby (Reba) Martin of Houston, Jerry (Judy) Martin of Houston, Rufus (Marilyn) Martin of Houston and Frankie (Cathy) Martin of Houston, one brother, Bobby (Elizabeth) Johnson of Houston, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Martin is preceded in death by her parents, her late husband, Harold Wayne Martin, three brothers, Harold "Doodler" Johnson, and Thomas Denton Johnson and Billy Gene Johnson, and one grandson, Dallas Martin.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Thorn Church of God in Thorn, Mississippi.
