Duncan, Virginia Johnson - Mantee - Virginia Johnson Duncan, 93, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora. She was born May 14, 1922 in Mantee, MS to David Wesley Johnson and Edna Lee Scott Johnson. She was a retired school teacher, having taught for forty-three years at Slaughter, Woodland, Mantee and Cumberland. She was also a member of Mantee Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Mantee Baptist Church with Rev. William Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mantee.
Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Duncan of Mantee; one brother, Max Howell (Marie) Johnson of Mantee; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold Duncan; three sisters, Lois Caradine, Glenda Duncan, and Earlene King; and six brothers, Olar Johnson, Owen Johnson, Boyce Johnson, Tom Johnson, Wayne Johnson and Jimmie Johnson.
Pallbearers are Jody Johnson, Bruce Johnson, Jim Johnson, Cecil Johnson, John Williams, and Zach Williams.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM service time at Mantee Baptist Church.
