March 20, 1938 – July 21, 2023
Toy Coleman, Jr. age 85, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on July 21, 2023 at his daughter's home in Amory, MS. Toy was born on March 20, 1938 to Toy D. Coleman and Lula Mae Coleman. He was a longtime member and trustee of McCondy Methodist Church. Toy worked full time for the National Guard and once retired began working at the Chickasaw County bus shop and their transportation supervisor. He was a long time and dedicated member of the Ole Times cooking team.
A Funeral Service will be held, 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 23, 2023 at McCondy Methodist Church with Brother Kevin Linley and Bro Steve Lampkin officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 until time of service the same day. Burial will follow at Mixon Cemetery. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the Coleman Family.
Toy is survived by his wife, Charlene Coleman of Prairie, MS; his daughters, Karen (Larry) Dodson of Amory, MS, Amy (Allan) Fowler of Trebloc, MS, Shonda Kendall of Cascilla, MS; his sons, Toy Franklin Coleman of Ocean Springs, MS, Gregg Coleman of Houston, MS, Robin Birmingham of Houston, MS; his sister, Ruby King of Houston, MS, nine Grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and four Great-Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Toy and Lula Coleman; his brothers, John Reed Coleman, Wayne Coleman, and four sisters, Betty Sanders, Emma Jean Kennedy, Ruth Criddle and Thelma Allan.
