Powell, Ruth - Tupelo- Ruth L. Wooldridge Powell, 83, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family in Tupelo, Mississippi. Mrs. Powell was born in Houston, Mississippi on December 24, 1933 to Frank Edward Wooldridge and Lanie Leona McLaughlin. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Houston, MS. The Graveside Service will be Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. with Dr. Rodger McGrew officiating. Burial will be at Chickasaw Memorial Garden Cemetery in Houston, Mississippi. Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her sons, Dr. Tom (Cissy) Powell of Tupelo, MS., and Eddie (Michelle) Powell, her grandchildren, Robyn (Jeff) Griffin, Dr. Stephen Powell, Kelly Powell, Brandon Barrett, Bella G. Sykes, and one great grandchild, Charlotte Lane Griffin. Mrs. Powell is preceded in death by her parents, and her late husband, Thomas Stephen Powell, Sr. Pallbearers will be Dr. Stephen Powell, Jeff Griffin, and Brandon Barrett.
