Lancaster, Ruth - Woodland Ruth Alice Davidson Lancaster, 95, died Friday, August 23, 2013, at Floy Dyer Manor in Houston.
She was born July 19, 1918, in Clay County to John Juette Davidson and Lola Alice Russell Davidson. She was a housewife and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Services are Sunday, August 25, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy McMillen and Rev. Wade Mathis officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Woodland.
Survivors include her son, Russell and Jo Carolyn Lancaster of Houston; her granddaughters, Carol Lancaster of Houston, Cathy and Chuck Spencer of Woodland, Cindy Lancaster of Houston, and Merry and Dr. Chad Carson of Helena, Alabama; her great-grandchildren, Charles Wayne Spencer, Kyler Spencer, Faith Carson, Jack Carson, and Ava Carson.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Gillespie on July 30, 2013, her husband, Owen Wilson Lancaster on April 5, 2005; her parents, her son-in-law, Jack Gillespie, her sister, Maggie Belle Wooten, and her brother, John Davidson.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 25, 2013, from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM funeral service time at Houston Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Calvin Lancaster, Frank House, John William Lancaster, Chuck Spencer, Chad Carson, Rickey Chambers.
Honorary pallbearers are John Robert Woodruff, Floyd Pumphrey, and James R. Hard Rock Criddle.
