- Cordova- Ruth Gann Clark, 91, passed away May 3, 2017 at Methodist Le Bonheur
Germantown Hospital in Germantown, TN. She was born on May 2, 1926 in Chickasaw County, MS, to Emma Lee Brown Gann and John Thomas Gann. She and her husband A.J. moved from Houston, MS to Memphis, TN in 1963
when he took a job with Kraft Foods. In addition to being a homemaker, Ruth loved to tend to her garden, as well as cooking for her family and friends. She worked in retail for many years at Ely Walker in Memphis, and at Williams Sonoma in Olive Branch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, A.J. Clark; two brothers, W.R. (Sugarman) Gann and John L. Gann; one sister, Margie Sisk; and her daughter-in-law, Debbie Clark.
Ruth, also known as Mammaw to everyone, is survived by her son, Johnny (Barbara) Clark of Cordova, TN; two grandchildren, Courtney (T.K.) Baker of Cordova, TN, and Wesley (Amanda) Clark of Louisville, MS; one sister, Martha Snook Hill of Houston, TX; great grandchildren, A.J. Baker, Myles Baker, Benjamin Baker, Michael Majors, Emily Majors, and Kaytie Grace
Clark; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on May 4th, at Houston Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Childs officiating.
Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M.
until the service time at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Macedonia Methodist Cemetery.
Houston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Macedonia Methodist Cemetery Fund.
