Lynn McCormick, age 75, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. He was born Robert Lynn McCormick on  January 31, 1948 to William Dalton and Maylene McCormick in Houlka, MS. He was a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Houlka.

Lynn was a Guardsman for the army and was a CWO3 when retired. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War. He also was a retired game warden for the MS. Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, serving 24 years in that role. He enjoyed his interactions with the people he encountered while working in his compacity as a game warden.

A Funeral Service honoring Mr. Lynn will be Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Houlka at 2:00 PM with Bro. Brian Thrasher officiating and Bro. Bobby Long speaking. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Shiloh Baptist Church from 5PM-7PM and Thursday starting at 1 PM until time of service. A private family visitation will be from 4:30 PM until 5 Pm on Wednesday and 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM Thursday. Burial will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka with burial rites performed by the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Ann Edington McCormick; two sons, Richard (Crystal) McCormick of Tupelo, MS and Chris McCormick of Houlka, MS; his daughter in law, Erissa McCormick of Houlka; his grandchildren, Ella McCormick, Lauren (Dayton) Morris, Ethan (Laurie) McCormick, Ryan McCormick, Kathryn (JC) Moore, and Cassie (Braden) Newton; his great-grandchildren, Brett Moore, Melanie Moore, Layla Morris, Madelyn Morris, Olivia Morris, Maclynn Newton and James Newton; and one sister, Barbara McManus of Houlka, MS.

He was preceded in death by parents William McCormick, Maylene McCormick Edington and his stepfather, Lawerence Edington; one son, Wesley Adam McCormick; his sisters, Francis Thomas, Doris Marion, Robbie Faye McCormick; and one brother, Horace McCormick.
