Our Pop, Dicky Davis, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will not be forgotten.
A Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Houston Funeral Home, at 2:00 PM with Bro. David Upshaw officiating. Visitation will be Monday night from 6PM-8Pm at Houston Funeral Home and will resume Tuesday, one hour prior to service. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the Davis family.
He was a devoted husband who loved his wife with every ounce of his being—a love that was evident in everything he did. He was also a proud and caring father to his two children, and his family continued to grow with four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.
Known for his daily jokes on Facebook, he had a special way of brightening people’s days. Friends and family looked forward to his humor, which reflected his warm spirit and ability to make others smile no matter the circumstances.
He had many friends and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Whether big or small, he was always willing to step in and support those around him. In his quieter moments, he enjoyed simple pleasures—walking, spending time outdoors, and riding around in his truck.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Davis of Houston; his children, Tracy (Tim) Sullivan of Houston, MS and Jason (Wyndi) Davis of Vardaman, MS; his grandchildren, Caroline (Jerritt) Alford, Mary Kansas Sullivan, Mary Grace Davis and Reed Davis; and great-grandchildren, Rutt, Litty, and Laura Baker Alford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Palmer and Ola Davis and one sister, Faye Davis Neal.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on through the laughter he shared, the kindness he gave, and the love he poured into his family and friends.
