Mantee-Rebecca Gibson Carter, 78, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018. She was born on April 28, 1939 in Webster County, MS to M. L. Gibson and Frances Pauline Barton Gibson. She was a school teacher for Houston Public Schools for 32 years where she retired, and was a member of Mantee Baptist Church in Mantee, MS. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

The Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Mantee Baptist Church in Mantee, Mississippi with Rev. William Carpenter and Rev. Bill Baker officiating.

Burial will be at Wake Forrest Cemetery in Mantee, Mississippi.

Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Warren William "Billy" Carter Jr. of Mantee, her daughter, Rebecca Anne (Bart) Wood of Starkville, MS., her son, Warren William "Dub" (Michele) Carter III of Little Rock, AR., one brother, Benny (Sandra) Gibson of Mantee, MS., and her grandchildren, Catherine Carter, Cole Wood, Carter Wood, and Caroline Wood.

Mrs. Carter is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Mantee Baptist Church in Mantee, Mississippi.
