-Raymond Edwin "Ray" Parker passed from his Earthly home on June 24, 2023. He was born June 15, 1935 to William Henry Parker and Evelyn Marie Petersen Parker in Grand Rapids, MI. He was a longtime employee of Lowe's in Tupelo, MS. He was also a farmer at heart and done hay for many years.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 27, at 12 PM at Houston Funeral Home with Dr. Randy Rinehart officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM until 12 PM the day of service and burial will be at Houston City Cemetery. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Davis, Luke Gorrell, Tyler Gorrell, Wesley Parker, Tyler Parker, and Riley Cook.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Davis, Dallas Gorrell, Jonathan Parker, Billy "B.J." Duncan and Shane Pettit.
Mr. Ray is survived by his three daughters, Gwendolyn Kay (Kevin) Davis of Houston, MS, Karen Sue (Dallas) Gorrell of Houston, MS , Reba Jean (Ronnie) Morris of Big Creek, MS; his son, Ricky Ray (Lori) Parker of Pontotoc, MS; his grandchildren, Jonathan Parker, Tyler Parker, Wesley Parker, Kara Pettit, Tyler Gorrell, Luke Gorrell, Matthew Davis, Mandy Duncan, Hailey Parker, Brad Ward, Nathan Ward, and Emily Eubanks; 18 Great-Grandchildren; and two sisters, Bonnie Jones and Juanita Lynn Parker both of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Parker, his parents, two sister, one brother and his son, Raymond Edwin "Eddy" Parker, II.
In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to St. Jude in honor of his great-grandson, Davis Duncan.
