Patricia "Pat" Ann Pettigrew, age 87, passed from her earthly home on February 27, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born Patricia Ann Dobbs on August 11, 1937, to Audie Otha Dobbs and Zelma Beatrice Crabb Dobbs in the Pratts Community near Baldwyn, MS.
Pat, as she was lovingly referred to by everyone, worked at Regions Bank as the assistant vice-president from which she retired after many years. She served as president of Women Bankers of Mississippi. She loved working for the bank but that was only one of her passions. She loved working in her yard and could be found outside weed eating anytime it was warm enough to do so.
Pat was very active in many of the community programs around Chickasaw County including The Chickasaw Development Foundation and even helped found Leadership Chickasaw. She was a Cadet Girl Scout Leader. Pat was very active in her church, First Baptist Church of Houston, MS. She taught youth Sunday school classes, worked in Vacation Bible School, and was faithful in her attendance, until her health declined.
Mrs. Pat 's Funeral Service will be held Sunday, March 2, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Houston, MS, at 3:00 PM with Bro. Cameron O' Daniel and Bro. Randy Hayes officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 2:00 PM until the time of service. The burial will be at Houston City Cemetery. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the Pettigrew Family.
Pat is survived by her husband, Jimmy Pettigrew; her daughters, Beverly Pettigrew Doss of Houston, Vicki Shepard of Caledonia, MS; her sons, David (Heather) Pettigrew of Roseville, CA; Kevin Hamilton of Caledonia, MS; her sister, Linda Dobbs Long of Southaven, MS; her grandchildren, Danielle (Chris) Newberry, Kelli (Zach) Foster, Leah (Matt) Stone, Josh (Ariel) Pettigrew, Elisabeth (Aidan) Fletcher, Caleb Pettigrew, and Elijah Pettigrew.
She is preceded in death by her son, James M. Pettigrew, Jr.; her parents, Audie Otha and Zelma Beatrice Dobbs; her sisters, Christine Dobbs Stewart, Yvonne Dobbs Outlaw, Sue Dobbs Huckaby; her brothers, Otha Lee Dobbs, James Harold Dobbs, and Billy Ray Dobbs.
