Morris, Nannie Mae - Nannie Mae Ware Morris, 95, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Dugan Nursing Home in WestPoint, Mississippi. She was born April 30, 1921 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi to George Washington Ware and Mary Chapman Ware. Mrs. Morris was a homemaker, and an avid songwriter, singer, and loved playing the guitar. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Houston Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Wilson officiating.
Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Woodland, MS.
Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Survivors include her daughters, Ella Weese (Thurman) Langford of WestPoint, MS, Shirley Ann Doss of WestPoint, MS, Marlyn Janice (Sammy) Henley of WestPoint, MS, and Vanessa Frances (Billy) Decker of WestPoint, MS, her son, Jimmy Morris of Aberdeen, MS. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Nannie Mae Morris is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James William Morris, her son, Roger Dale Morris, her sisters, Jauntia Caldwell, Casey Criddle, Lizzie Dendy, and Mary George Marshall, her brothers, G.W. Ware, Arjene Ware, Eddie Ware, and Marvin Ware.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. at Houston Funeral Home.
