Nancy Evalyn Tabb Dendy, 81, died Sunday, March 16, 2025, at her home on North Pontotoc Street in Houston, MS. The daughter of the late Jim Hugh Tabb and Eva Collins Tabb, she was born September 30, 1943. She was married to her husband Jack Dendy, also of Houston, for 62 years.

A 1961 graduate of Houston HIgh School, she attended Mississippi University for Women in Columbus and Mississippi State University in Starkville.

Nancy was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Houston, where she sang in the Chancel Choir and Ladies' Sextet, played in the Handbell Choir, and was instrumental in creating the first children's choir.  She was actively involved in Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Cosmopolitan Club, but was most passionate about supporting the lives and activities of her four children and four grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 20 at First Methodist Church in Houston, preceded by visitation at the church from 1:30-3:00 PM.  Officiating the service will be Rev. David Upshaw and Rev. Mike Childs.  Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include husband Jack Dendy of Houston, daughter Anna Katherine Dendy (Carrie Burick) of Cleveland Heights, OH, sons Jim Tabb Dendy of New York, NY, Gordon Collins Dendy (Blakely) of Olive Branch, MS, and Robert Russell Dendy (Lauren) of Madison, MS.  She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Abigail Grace Dendy, Brayden Tabb Dendy, Collins Elizabeth Dendy, and Harrison Miles Dendy.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother James Collins Tabb
