Johnson, Myrtle - Houlka Myrtle Johnson, 92, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Floy Dyer Nursing Home in Houston. She was born January 30, 1923 to James Vernon Jim Buchanan and Maybell Ellis Buchanan in Chickasaw County. She was a housewife and factory worker at Indianapolis Glove Factory. She was a member of Houlka Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home in Houston with Rev. David Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka. Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include sons, Joe (Judy) Johnson of Cecil, GA, Clyde Johnson of Macon, GA, and Hugh Johnson of Riverdale, GA; grandchildren, Lee Johnson, Sebrina Dawkins, Pam Long, Vickie Johnson, Barry Linton, Patrick Linton, Alice Linton, Jennifer Johnson, Johnathan Johnson and Michelle Johnson; thirteen great-grandchildren; nephew, Mike (Cookie) Peel; and nieces, Dianne (Jimmy Calvin) Lancaster, Jayme (Jamey) Peel Rowlett, and Sherry (Mitch) Alford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Leland Johnson; daughters, Alice Faye Johnson and Judy Linton; and granddaughter, Shanon Jo Johnson.
Pallbearers are Lee Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Patrick Linton, Barry Linton, Tony Cook and Shane Cook.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 1:00 PM to the 2:00 PM service time at Houston Funeral Home.
