Brooks, Mildred Knox - 89, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Trace Regional Hospital in Houston.
She was born October 15, 1923, in Clay County to Homer Dowden Knox and Cynthia Ethel Harbin Knox.
She was a homemaker, a retired supervisor at Dell-Meade and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Services will be 10:30 AM Friday, September 27, 2013, at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Bro. Roy Gene Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Woodland. Houston Funeral Home of Houston, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Anderson and Clifford of Houston, Freida Ellison of Houston; her son, Roy Gene Brooks and Myra of Conroe, TX; her sister, Louise Henderson of Aurora, CO; her seven grandchildren and her fifteen great-grandchildren..
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leroy Shorty Brooks, her two sisters, and her four brothers.
Pallbearers are Roy Gene Brooks, Anthony Anderson, Bubba Brooks, Brian Vance, Terry Simmons, and Tom Scott.
Visitation is Thursday, September 26, 2013, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home.
