Obituary

Mary Lois Wilson, 89, passed away, Monday, January 28, 2019, at Floy Dyer Manor in Houston. She was born August 3, 1929 to John Melton and Minnie Clyde Robinson Lancaster in Iuka.

She was a faithful member of Prospect United Methodist Church where she served as music director and treasurer. She faithfully brought a fresh flower arrangement to the church for the Sunday morning worship service every week. She also enjoyed decorating for the Parish Bazaar with her homegrown sunflowers. She was a life-long example of a good and faithful servant. Her hobbies were cooking, singing hymns, shopping and making floral arrangements.

She and husband, Byron, were in the farming and dairy business for many years. She was a retired bookkeeper at Houston Fertilizer Association.

Services will be Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Prospect United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Houston Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Visitation will continue at the church beginning at 12:00 until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.

She is survived by two sons, Lanny and Alice Wilson and Jeffery and Donna Wilson of Houston; her three grandchildren, Brian Wilson of Houston, Hanna and Seth Burt of Houlka, and Kyle Wilson of Houston; her two step grandsons, Derek and Casey White of Hernando, and David White of Houston; her great grandchildren, Jase Wilson Irvin of Houlka and Amberlee Wilson of Hernando; step grandchildren, Claire and Sarah Kate White of Hernando; her two sisters, Minnie Pearl Wiseman of Houston, and Reba Connor of Van Vleet; one brother, Jimmy Lancaster of Van Vleet.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 63 years, Robert Byron Wilson of Houston; her two brothers, Harold Lancaster of Van Vleet and Loyd Lancaster of Iuka; her three sisters, Clyda Frances Lancaster of Iuka, Flora Pierce of Jackson and Hazel Sullivan of Okolona.

Pallbearers will be Brian Wilson, Kyle Wilson, Seth Burt, Derek White, David White, and Randy Wiseman.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prospect Cemetery Fund, Attn: Bruce Wofford, 1207 Hwy 8 East, Houston, MS 38851.
