Duke, Marie Marion - 87, of Van Vleet, a retired seamtress, died at Shearer-Richardson Memorial Nursing Home in Okolona on Monday, October 17, 2011.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home in Houston and Friday, October 21, 2011, at Friendship Presbyterian Church on County Road 115 in Van Vleet from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM service time.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, October 21, 2011, at Friendship Presbyterian Church in Van Vleet with Rev. Joe Herndon officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. She is survived by her four sons, James William Duke and his wife, Becky Lloyd Duke of Tupelo; Jimmy Lamar Duke and his wife, Lois Clark Duke of Cody, Wyoming; Larry Duke and his wife, Charlie Cantler Duke of Van Vleet; Kenneth Duke and his wife, Cherry Owens Duke of Memphis, TN; her grandchildren, Jeff Duke and his fiancee, Angelica Vogt of Austin,TX, Emily Duke Provias and John of Brandon, Dana Long of Tupelo, Steve Duke and Amy of New Albany, Marlo Thomas and Ty of Montana, Ashley Duke and Audrey of Wyoming, Toby Duke and Vickie of New Albany, Sonya Duke Pannell and Jason of Houlka, Zachary Duke, Thomas Duke, Paden Duke, and Anna Claire Duke of Memphis, TN; her great grandchildren, Kayla Duke, Haley Duke, Ryne Long, Corey Duke, Alley Duke, Christopher Duke, Carley Pannell, Austin Pannell, and Andrew Provias all of Mississippi, Taylor Duke, Matthew Duke, Lauren Duke, and William Duke of Wyoming, and Gunnar Thomas and Galvin Thomas of Montana. She is also survived by her sister, Evelyn Walker of Pontotoc; her sister-in-law, Doris Marion of Van Vleet; and her brother-in-law, Jimmy Crockett of Tupelo.
