Maidie Mae Williams Heair, age 100, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, in Mathiston, MS. She was born May 29, 1925, in Cooter, MO to Bob and Alma Myrtle Akins Williams. She was a member of North Side Church of Christ but has been unable to attend in the later years due to health concerns. She loved her family and that was her mission in life, to take care of their home and family as a homemaker.
A Funeral service will be Monday, April 27, at Parkway Baptist Church starting at 11:00 AM with Dr. Randy Rinehart officiating. Visitation will be from 10 until time of service. Burial will follow at Houston City Cemetery. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the Heair family. The Family requests everyone wear purple.
Grandsons, Ellis McVay, Stuart McVay, Chad Griffin, Wil Prisock, Jordan Thompson, and grandson in law, Keith Vaughn have the honor of serving as pallbearers.
David McVay, Roy Orr, Wesley Prisock, Jackson McVay, Jake McVay, Jamison McVay and Brian Wilbourne will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Maidie is survived by her daughters, Margaret Harrell of Mathiston, MS, Carolyn (Roy) Orr of Flora, MS, Linda Heair of Mathiston, MS, Brenda (David) McVay of Pontotoc, MS, and Amy Prisock of Starkville, MS; her brothers, James "Jimmy" Williams of Collinsville, OK, Bill Williams of Owasso, OK, and Don "Buck" (Debbie) Williams of Skiatook, OK; a sister in law, Helen Williams of Claremore, OK; her grandchildren, Allison (Tim) Cain, Chad (Tina) Griffin, Kim (Keith) Vaughn, Alisha (Chris) Higginbotham, Stuart McVay, Jordan Thompson, Emily (Joe) Trahan, Ellis McVay, and Wil (Sasha) Prisock; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Ellis Ray Heair; her parents, Bob and Alma Williams; a son, Michael Ray Heair; a daughter, Sandra Thompson; four son-n-laws, Lee Thompson, Robert Harrell, Jimmy Griffin and Donnie Prisock; her sister, Bonnie Ross; brothers, Edward Williams, Buford Williams, Bobby Williams and Kenneth Williams; a grandson, Bobby Harrell.
