Mabelene Lewis Easley

Houston, MS- Mabelene Lewis Easley passed away peacefully at North Mississippi Medical Center on February 2, 2025. Born September 11, 1935, to Minnie and Richard Lewis, Mabelene grew up in the Egypt community Of Okolona, Mississippi,

On October 2., 1953 She married the love of her life, George Easley from this union they had two children, Larry Easley and Sarah McCrary both of Houston.

She was employed as a secretary at both Ceramic Tile and Franklin Corporation from which she retired. She was an active member in the Enon Primitive Baptist Church, and a pillar of the community.

Mabelene was a member of the Pilot Club and Republican Women of Houston Mississippi for many years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and her weekly shopping trips to the Factory Connection. She and George enjoyed square and round dancing and were active members of The Chickasaw Squares for many years.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home with Bro. Calvin Warren officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will be at Enon Primitive Baptist Church. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the Easley Family.

She is preceded in death by her husband George, her son Larry, her parents and siblings Charlie Doss Lewis, Cecil Lewis, and Dorothy Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah McCrary of Houston; Daughter in law, Tammy Easley of Houston;her grandchildren, Phatema Morse (Kevin Morse) of Saltillo, Dawn Blakely (Dee Blakely) of Houston and Shannon Luker of Manila AR. Great-Grandchildren Stephen Winter (Madison Winter), Tristen Winter (Aubrie Kilgore), Heather Blakely, Rylee James, Makayla Blakely and Matthew Morse. Great-Great Grandson Tripp Winter.
