Johnny Lamar Russell, age 69, passed away, March 14, 2025, in Houston, MS. Johnny was born July 3, 1955 in Houlka, MS to John Calvin Russell and Earline Isabell Culpepper Russell. He worked with the road crew as a heavy equipment operator for Chickasaw County.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Bro. Jacob Samuell officiating at Bent Knee Nazarene Church in Houlka, MS. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ty Russell, Shan Russell, Drew Eddington, James White, Rodney Culpepper and Ricky Burgess.

Johnny is survived by his sisters, Peggy Stepp and Hazel Davidson, both of Houlka, MS; grandchildren he helped raise as his own, Lydia Jernigan, Lauren Edington, and Drew Edington; a host of great-grandchildren; and his close friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Earline Russell and his brother, Jerry Wayne Russell.
