John T. Martin

Houston-John T. Martin left his earthly home on Friday, March 18, 2022 at North Mississippi Medical Center as a result of  a fall. He was born December 10, 1951 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi to Thomas Eugene and Jettie Inez Miller Martin.

John T. was well known and well loved in his hometown of Houston. He graduated from Woodland High school and went on to attend Mississippi State University. He served in the Mississippi National Guard for 6 years. John T. worked for many years at Wilson's Furniture and Appliance, also as an insurance agent for Woodman Life, a contracted repossession agent and Assistant Funeral Director at Houston Funeral Home. John T. was a giver in his life and even after his death, he continued by donating his organs.

A Funeral Service will be held at Houston Funeral Home Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Lee Dillard officiating and burial at Macedonia Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Houston Funeral Home Monday, March 21, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Geron Gill, Steve Free, Wayne Martin, Ronnie Free, Toby Johnson, Eric Martin, Colton Byars and Chris Reynolds.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Houston Funeral Home.

John T. is survived by his wife Kay Griffin Martin; One Son, Austen Martin; Two Daughters. Nicole Gill (Tommy), Cara Martin; Four grandchildren, Amber Reynolds (Chris), Geron Gill (Misty), Alaina and Acen Martin; one great-Grandchild, Everly Reynolds all of Houston, MS; One Half Sister, Ann Coggins; Three Sisters in Law Doretta Martin, Pauline Brassfield and Dorothy Walls; and one Brother in Law, Nelson Griffin.

John T. was proceeded in death by his parents Thomas E. "Fesser" and Jettie Inez Miller Martin and one brother Billy Ray "BooBoo" Martin.
