John Robert Ford Sr., a retired United States Navy commissioned officer who proudly served his country at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Four (CWO-4), passed away peacefully at his home in Mantee, Mississippi on September 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service.

John was born in Houston, Mississippi and dedicated much of his life to serving his country. His career in the United States Navy was a source of great pride, and he carried with him the values of honor, duty, commitment, and perseverance throughout his life. His service and accomplishments reflected his dedication to the Navy and to those with whom he served.

Following his retirement from the Navy, John continued his professional career with Franklin Logistics Company in Houston, Mississippi, where he served as Logistics Director until his retirement. He was also a proud Mason, an affiliation that reflected the values of fellowship, loyalty, service, and duty that were important to him throughout his life.

He is survived by his son, John Ford Jr. of College Station, Texas; his daughter, Larisa Ford of Corpus Christi, Texas; his stepson, Scott Davidson and Christy Pettit of Mantee, Mississippi, and his stepdaughter, Melissa Blount of Bruce Mississippi. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Eli Ford and Maggie Ford, and his step-grandchild, Hunter Davidson.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deltha Faye Ford (mother of Scott and Melissa), Rebecca Turner of Port Aransas, Texas (mother of John and Larisa), and his parents, William Andrew Ford and Gussie Vivian Wilson Ford of Houston, MS.

John will be remembered for his strength and independence. His life was marked by service to his country and devotion to those closest to him. The memories he created and the example he set will remain a lasting part of his family’s lives.

He will be deeply missed by his children, family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of service will live on through those he leaves behind.
