Joe Winston Dobbs

Woodland, MS- Joe Dobbs, age 88, passed away October 19, 2024 at Baptist Memorial in Oxford. Joe was born Joe Winston Dobbs on April 25, 1936 to Clark and Rosie Dendy Dobbs. He was a retired tire mechanic for Griffin Motors and a member of The Pentecostal Church of Houston.

A Funeral Service will be held October 23, 2024 at Houston Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Bro. Kenneth Wilson and Bro. Paul Brassfield officiating. Visitation will be October 22, 2024 at Houston Funeral Home from 5-7 PM and October 23, 2024 from 10 until time of service. Burial will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Houston, MS.  Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the Dobbs family.

Serving as pallbearers are DJ Dobbs, David Dobbs, Lyle Stewart, Heath Pearson, Spencer Walls, and Douglas Dobbs, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Steven Winter, Brian Coleman, Tyres Naugle, Tyler Wright, and John Gravat.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Lisa Gravat of Woodland, MS; his son, Donald Joe (Deonda) of Woodland, MS; his grandchildren Chasity (Heath) Pearson, Amanda (Spencer) Dobbs, Andrea (Tyler) Wright, Haley (Tyres Naugle) Gravat, Douglas Dobbs, Jr., DJ (Megan) Dobbs, Crystal (Stephen) Winter, Brittany (Lyle) Stewart, Monica (Brian Coleman) Dobbs and David Dobbs; twenty four great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Ann Dobbs, his parents, Clark and Rosie Dobbs, his siblings, Melba Umstead, Alice Lacey and Gene Dobbs, his son, Douglas Winston Dobbs, Sr., his grandson, Cody Gravat, a great-grandson, Cullen Dobbs, and a daughter in law, Alana Dobbs.
