Free, Jo Ellen - Woodland Jo Ellen Martin Free, 77, passed away October 4, 2016, at the Dugan Nursing Home in West Point, MS. She was born August 20, 1939in Chickasaw County to Eugene Verell Martin and Velma Lavon Weaver Martin. She was a home maker and loved all of her family and friends with all of her heart. Jo Ellen attended Woodland Baptist Church and Amity Baptist Church.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Houston Funeral Home with Billy Free and Rev. Carl Morris officiating.
Burial will follow at Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery in Houston, MS.
Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Elon Ray Free, two sons; Michael Ray (Doris) Free of Woodland, and Steven Martin Free of Woodland, three sisters, Martha Ann (James) Cozart of Southaven, Helen (Gene) Johnson of Houston, and Judy (James) Washington of Houston, five grandchildren, Ashley (Danny Ray) Schwalenberg, Britney (AJ) Mann, Justin (Magen) Free, Cheyenne Free, and Aubrey Free. Seven great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Landon, and Emma Griffin, Collin Schwalenberg, Addison and Brantley Free, and Cayden Brown.
Jo Ellen Free was preceded in death her parents, Velma Weaver Martin and Eugene V. Martin, brothers, Thomas (Fessor) E. Martin, and Wayne (Bo) E Martin; her sisters, Bonnie May Whitworth, and Mary Emma Myers.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Houston Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include: Justin Free, Wayne Martin, Ronnie Free, Kenneth Ricks, John T Martin, and Barry Martin.
