Jimmy Higginbotham, 70, of Thorn, passed away in the comfort of his home, with his wife by his side, on Sunday, December 17, 2023. He was born September 10, 1953, in Vardaman to Henry and Ruth Higginbotham. He was a truck driver, retired from Hardin Trucking and Carter Lumber. He was a member of Thorn Church of God. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His life will be celebrated at Houston Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 2 p.m. with Brother Anthony Dean and Brother Jim Crowley officiating. The family receive visitors on Tuesday from 11-2 at Houston Funeral Home prior to the service.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda; his children, Chris Higginbotham (Alisha), Jennifer Chandler (Josh), and Cory Higginbotham (Eden); his brother Danny Higginbotham; his sister Betty Holder; his sister in law Carol Colbert (Mike); four grandchildren, Brodie Chandler, Mary Ella Chandler, Carlie Reynolds (Rowdy), and Griffin Higginbotham; one great-grandchild Kohen Reynolds; one niece Alisha (Justin and Aubrey); one nephew Brad (Bethany, Taylor and Will); extended family and friends that were like family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ruth Higginbotham, his parents-in-law Willard and Agnes Todd, and his brother-in-law Bobby Holder.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Carter, Kevin Tunnell, Dennis Washington, Danny Suggs, Rowdy Reynolds, William Hamilton, Sammy Moore, Tyrone Avant, and Justin Richardson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Carter, Roger Barnett, Brad Higginbotham, Tony Ruth, Harvey Hardin and Roncie Hardin.
