Smith, Jerry D. - Houston Jerry D. Smith, 79, passed away January 7, 2016 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born June 16, 1936 to James Horace Smith and Maynette Neal Smith. He was a member of the Army Reserve and a retired mediator for FedEx. He was a member of Amity Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy McMillen officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery in Houston.
Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include sisters, Gail (Glen) Rhea of West Point; brothers, Jimmy (Jamie) Smith of Houston and Larry (Ruth) Smith of Houston; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Sanderson; and nephew, Ricky Smith.
Pallbearers are David Bo Smith, Larry Bubba Smith, Jr., Jeffery Chaney, and Christopher Cockrell.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM service time at Houston Funeral Home.
