Obituary

Jennifer Lynn Tornwall Mooneyham passed away at her home, surrounded by her family on August 27, 2026.

Born June 12, 1947, in Houston, MS to Frances Enochs Jessup Tornwall and Patrick Tornwall and grew up under the loving guidance of her beloved grandparents Ezekiel and Lottie Enochs and aunt and uncle Polly and Dabney Anderson.

Jennifer graduated from Houston High School in 1965 and studied at Mississippi State University. She married Bobby Mooneyham on August 29, 1965, and raised four daughters. She dedicated her life to her family, serving as her children’s biggest cheerleader and fiercest champion.

She believed in the importance of education, taking her daughters to the library’s summer reading programs, making them look up the answer to any question in the dictionary or encyclopedia, and teaching them that no education was ever wasted because it was something no one can ever take away from you.

Jennifer was a beautiful soul both inside and out, and she lived her life with a distinctive flair that was evident in her decorating style and her joy in celebrating holidays. She savored even the small pleasures in life such as watching fireflies with her children and eating cake for breakfast.

Her unwavering love for her family and friends was always clear. She made sure to show the people she loved how much they mattered, sending them cards for every holiday, telling them how much they meant to her any occasion she got.

Jennifer loved animals and gardening and extending her nurturing care to all creatures great and small.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bobby Mooneyham, her mother, Frances Jessup, and her father, Patrick Tornwall.

She leaves behind her daughters Michele Franklin (Hank), Patricia Mooneyham, Tina Venus (Wesley), Ashley Roberson (Anthony); her grandchildren, Trey and Ollie Franklin, Keller and Lyla Roberson, and Ben Venus; and her beloved dog, Bo and host of beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to offer special thanks to her special caregivers, Brenda Cole, Rochelle Eacholes, Sheila Herrod, Sheron Taylor; North Mississippi Medical Center Palliative and Hospice Care.

The service will be at Houston First Methodist Church on August 29th at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation directly before at 1:00 p.m.
