Neal, James - Houston James M. Neal, 84, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at his home in Houston. He was born December 19, 1930 in Chickasaw County to Charlie Milton Neal and Mattie Della West Neal. James retired from Northeast Mississippi LP Gas Company. After retirement, he continued working part-time totaling sixty-four years, first as a truck driver then as an office clerk. He was an Army Veteran. He was a member of Southside Church of Christ. His great-grandchildren were the pride of his life.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Houston Funeral Home with Bro. J.F. Dancer officiating. Burial will follow at Houston Cemetery in Houston.
Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda (Don) Blankenship and Wanda (Billy) Free both of Houston; brother Charles (Lillian) Neal of Houston; grandchildren, Jonathan Blankenship, Daphne (Greg) King, Christopher (Erin) Free, Jennifer (Robert) Gore; great-grandchildren, Caroline Blankenship, Ryan Gore, Maddie King, Isabella King, Noah Free and Adelyn Free; and a special friend, Agnes Todd.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Stella Rudell Weeks Neal; and sister, Anice Neal Foster.
Pallbearers are Jonathan Blankenship, Christopher Free, Greg King, Robert Gore, Bill Blissard and Derrick Jennings.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home.
