Houston, Hugh - Houlka Hugh Edward Houston, 91, passed away at MS State Veteran s Home in Oxford on Monday, May 25, 2015. He was born February 28, 1924 in Marietta, MS to Addie Hugh Houston and Zera Belle Patton Houston. He was a retired insurance manager for Equitable and also a retired commander in the US Navy Reserve. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Houlka United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Coggins officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka with full military honors. Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include: nephews, Pat (Martha) Houston of Houlka, Terry Ray Houston of Houlka; nieces, Debbie (Jimmy Guy) McDonald of Houlka, and Lisa (Ronald) Brown of Houlka; great nieces and nephews, Jill Vance, Bradley McDonald, T.J. Brown, Cody Brown, Jenna Rhea Houston, John Michael Houston, Jay Houston, Pete Houston, and Hayden Houston; sisters-in-law, Jeanne (Jerry) Elliott of Gretna, LA, Rita (Raymond) Jemison of Ashland, Jackie (Bill) Yager of Springfield, LA, Sandra (Frank) Appel of Slidell, LA, Linda (Richard) Guillot of Westwego LA; brother-in-law, J.R. (Joan) Turner of Pearl River, LA
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wanda Turner Houston and two brothers James Patton Pete Houston and Otha Ray Houston.
Pallbearers are: Bradley McDonald, T.J. Brown, Cody Brown, Jay Houston, John Michael Houston, and Brad Vance.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Houlka United Methodist Church.
