Pate, Helen - Houston Helen Woodruff Pate, 76, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit in Tupelo. She was born November 21, 1938 in Houston, MS to Robert Roy Woodruff and Olivia Lucille Blue Woodruff. She was a retired sales clerk for Walmart and a member of Parkway Baptist Church. She loved watching her grandchildren play ball and was avid Ole Miss fan.
Funeral services will be Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Parkway Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Rinehart officiating. Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery in Montpelier.
Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include: Daughter, Sherry (Todd) Griffin of Montpelier; Son, Steve (Dawn) Pate of Mantee; Sisters, Dora Woodruff of Houston, Joan (Leon) Fortner of Houston, Mackie (Thomas) May of Houston, and Margaret (David) Nelson of Woodland; Brothers, John Robert (Sara) Woodruff of Houston and Frank (Brenda) Woodruff of Houston; Grandchildren, Celia Pate, Payton Griffin, Jennah Pate, Brooke Griffin, John David Pate; step-grandson, Trey Griffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cecil Pate, and her sister, Sarah Dendy.
Pallbearers are Trey Griffin, Jon T-Bird Arledge, Dillan Silver, Steve Pate, David Nelson, Gary Brock, Payton Griffin, John David Pate.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Parkway Baptist Church.
