Obituary

McDonald, Guy W. - Houlka Guy Wilbur McDonald, 85, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at his home in Houlka.
He was born September 20, 1928, in Pontotoc County to Hubert McDonald and Lowry Wilbur McDonald. He was a WWII Air Force Veteran. He was retired after 20 years of service with the MS Public Service Commission.
The funeral service will be Friday, September 5, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Houlka with Rev. David Blackwell and Rev. Rick Burton officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka. Houston Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Thomas McDonald of Houlka; his daughters, Bonnie Sappington of Houlka, Vicki (Donnie) Homan of Pontocola; his son, Jimmy Guy (Debbie) McDonald of Houlka; his grandchildren, Bradley McDonald, Brandi (Brad) Brown, Casey Sappington, Jill (Brad) Vance, Cassie Homan, Anna (Bill) West, Bud (Lauren) Homan; his great-grandchildren, Brayden Brown, Brody Brown, Jade Gunnells, Mark West, Heidi West, Lyla West; his sister, Jerry McCullough of Houlka; and his caregivers, Pam Reed, Linda Butler, and Joann Davidson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers-in-law, Derwood McCullough, Will Ike Winter, and his sister-in-law, Ann Winter.
Pallbearers are Bradley McDonald, Brad Vance, Brad Brown, Doug Winter, Nick Earp, Billy Box. Honorary pallbearers are the Domino Players.
Visitation is Thursday, September 4, at Houlka First Baptist Church from 5 until 7 PM.
Memorials may be made to Camellia Hospice, 1413 West Main St Suite B, Tupelo, MS 38801, or any other charity of choice.
