Easley, George Guinn
- Houston George Guinn Easley, 82, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 at North MS Medical center in Tupelo. He was born May 29, 1933 in Chickasaw County to George Ervin Easley and Fannie Estelle Smith Easley. He was retired from the Soil Conservation Service with 35 years of service. He was a farmer and an avid Sacred Harp singer. He served as President of the Southeast Water Association for many years. He loved genealogy, square dancing, and deeply loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Enon Primitive Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Enon Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Calvin Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Enon Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mabelene Lewis Easley of Houston; Daughter, Sarah McCrary of Houston; Grandchildren, Phatema Morse and Kevin of Saltillo, Dawn Blakely and Dee of Houston, Shannon James of Houston; Great-Grandchildren, Stephen Winter, Jr., Tristen Winter, Heather Blakely, Rylee James, Makayla Blakely and Matthew Morse; Daughter-in-law, Tammy Easley; sister, Elizabeth Ann Hubbard of Eupora; brothers, John Allen Easley and Dorothy of Houston, Jerry Easley of Hernando, Harold Easley and Pat of Houston and Evans Easley and Doty of Seattle, WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry Wayne Easley, and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Easley.
Pallbearers are Stephen Winter, Ben Easley, Tristen Winter, John Smith, Kevin Morse, Roger Smith, Dee Blakely, Lamon Griggs, and Ruben Smith.
Visitation will be Monday, July 6, 2015, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home and from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Tuesday July 7, 2015 at the church.
