Faye Bishop, age 94, passed away, Saturday, May 18, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born March 13, 1930 to Robert Roscoe Shirley and Clara Elizabeth Lantrip Shirley in Chickasaw County. She was a faithful member of Houlka First Baptist Church. Faye was a retired office clerk for the MS Department of Human Services.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Houlka First Baptist Church at 10 AM with Bro. Donald Holder and Bro. David Blackwell officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 20, 2024 from 5 Pm until 7 PM at Houlka First Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Collums Cemetery in Bruce, MS. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the Bishop family.
Pallbearers will be Gregory King, Micah Brown, Tucker Holloway, Maddie King, Arlee McClellan, Jacee McClellan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Isabella King, Kacen McClellan and Faye's Sunday school class.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Toni (Bobby) Brown; three grandchildren, Gregory (Daphne), King Rhianna McClellan (Tucker Holloway), and Micah Brown (Alyssa Haire); five great-grandchildren, Maddie King, Arlee McClellan, Jacee McClellan, Isabella King and Kacen McClellan; her nephew, Bryan Williams; and a host of cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James K. Bishop; her son, James M. "Jimmy" Bishop; her parents, Robert and Clara Shirley; and her siblings, Dorothy Williams and Russell Shirley.
Faye was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as friend. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and community.
