McKnight, Esterlene - Esterlene Gann McKnight, 97, of Houston,passed away Sunday, May 1st, 2016, at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, Ms. She was born April 22, 1919, in Mississippi to James Edward Gann and Addie Mae Mordecai Gann. She was the co-owner of McKnight Refrigeration. Esterlene was a member of the First Baptist Church of Houston, a Charter member of the Houston Pilot Club and was very active in community activities.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Houston Funeral Home with Dr. Daniel Heeringa officiating. Burial will follow at Chickasaw Memorial Gardens in Houston, Ms.
Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by daughters, Johnnie Faye (Joel) Shumpert of Cleveland, Mississippi, and Deborah Ann Bell of Southlake, Texas; her son, Ken (Cindy) McKnight of Mandeville, Louisiana and 3 grandchildren, Jay (Tammy) Shumpert, Chad Shumpert; Corey Shumpert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Johnnie Ervin McKnight, her sister, Ruby Louise Martin and brother, William Bud Gann.
Pallbearers are Jay Shumpert, Chad Shumpert, Corey Shumpert, Bill Kimmel,Ned Gann and Russell King.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 4th, 2016, from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Houston Funeral Home.
