Obituary

Elizabeth June Hampton Hollingsworth Weaver went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 26, 2022. Elizabeth was born to F.C. Hampton and Sallie Lois Streeter Hampton on March 4, 1931 in Chickasaw County.

A funeral service will be held Monday, November 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist church in Houston with Bro. Al Gaspard and Dr. Ronald Meeks officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens in Houston, MS. Visitation will be Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home and from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM the day of service at the church.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Elizabeth grew up on the family farm in the flatwoods, along with four siblings. She graduated from Woodland High School.

She married her children's father, James Robert Hollingsworth, in 1949 and in 1976 she married Johnny Mack Weaver. She lived in Chickasaw County all her life with the exception of 8 years.

Her children are Lynn Hollingsworth Hardin Sullivan and Red, Helen Hollingsworth Tabb and Bomer, Tyrell Hollingsworth Lundy Davis and Kim, James Hampton "Hamp" Hollingsworth and Angela, Robert Bryan "Robby" Hollingsworth and Joy.

During her lifetime, Elizabeth worked at several different vocations; clerking at grocery stores, a seamstress at garment plants, a teller at Houston State Bank (Now Regions); then owning her own business, Elizabeth's Florist, for about 20 years and retiring there.

She was an active member of Houston First Baptist Church and a true example of a Proverbs 31 woman, evidenced by her never-ending work ethic, her faithful love and care of family, the many meals prepared by her hands, the teachings, and wisdom, and business sense passed on, but most importantly, her fear of the Lord. Her children rise up and bless her, and her husband praises her.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Mack Weaver; her five children, Mackie's children, Julie Weaver Hollingsworth and Jeff and Jeff "Redman" Weaver and Kathy; 11 grandchildren, Jay Hardin and Melissa, Trampis Hardin and Alisha, Caleb and Tina Tabb, Tara Tabb Kilgore and Doug, Josh Lundy and Erica, Jake Hollingsworth, T.K. Hollingsworth and Lindsey, Casey Hollingsworth, Christopher Hollingsworth, Jonathan Hollingsworth and David Hollingsworth; seventeen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Virginia H. Langley of Woodland.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her first husband; 3 brothers, Curtis O. Hampton, Winston Basco "Shorty" Hampton both of Woodland, MS and Maxie Hampton of Greenbiar, TN; her grandparents, Basco Streeter and Eliza Hasting-Streeter Murks, and Johnny Lester Hampton and June Lancaster Hampton, and Mackie's son, John Weaver.
