Brown, Elaine - Houlka Elaine Brown, 102, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at her home in Houlka, MS. She was born May 2, 1913 in Calhoun County, MS to John Doyle Kirkpatrick and Mattie Lou Doss Kirkpatrick. She was a homemaker and the oldest member of First Baptist Church in Houlka. Her hobbies included baking bread and rolls for others as well as making quilts.
Funeral services will be Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Houlka, MS with Rev. David Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka.
Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara (John) Boutwell of Clinton, MS, and Martha (William) Collums of Houlka, MS; her sisters, Nettie Henry of Pontotoc, MS and Lillie F. Davis of Woodstock, GA; two grandsons, Glenn M. Goodwin and Jason W. Boutwell.; five great-grandchildren, Madison Goodwin, Keaton Goodwin, Hallie Goodwin, Brooke Boutwell and Enley Boutwell; and her care-givers, Joe Ann Davidson, Lula Hoover, Patsy Halcomb and Norma Tittle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elon A. Brown.
Pallbearers are: Glenn Goodwin, Jason Boutwell, Richard Chrestman, Tim Davidson, Carl Daniel, and Ken Westmoreland. Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny McClendon and David Thomas.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM service time at First Baptist Church in Houlka.
