Edward Eugene Birmingham passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022, at UAB in Birmingham, AL. He was born January 27, 1952 to James Frank and Annie Lucille Birmingham. He was raised by Carl Lee and Ruby Colbert.
Edward was a faithful member of Houston First United Methodist Church. He retired from the Army National Guard after 33 years of service. He also served as the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator for the State of Mississippi for 17 years.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, August 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Houston First United Methodist Church with Bro. Brian Gordon officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Chickasaw Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM the day of service at the First United Methodist Church. Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the service.
He is survived by his spouse of 38 years, Vickie Birmingham of Houston, MS and their two daughters, Bethany (Brad) Higginbotham and Molly Birmingham; two daughters from a previous marriage, Ashley Birmingham and Krista Birmingham; two grandsons Taylor and Will Higginbotham; three brothers, Gene Birmingham, Neal (Lois Ann) Colbert, Thomas (Ann) Colbert; four sisters, Louise (Tommy) McMillen, Linda (Johnny) Simpson, Jean Miller, and Ruby Lee Lancaster.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Frank and Annie Lucille Birmingham; his foster parents, Carl Lee and Ruby Colbert; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Evelyn Daniel; his brothers, Bobby Birmingham, Jimmy Birmingham, Lee Birmingham, Bill Birmingham, Bobby Colbert, and Donald Colbert.
Pallbearers will be soldiers from the Army National Guard.
