Edward Dunkin

Houston, MS- Mr. Ed Dunkin, age 99, passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center on July 4, 2022. Edward was born May 10, 1923 in Perry County, Alabama. He was the son of Robert Randolph Dunkin and Ethel McCollough Dunkin.

Mr. Ed married the love of his life on July 15, 1944.

Mr. Ed was a long time, very faithful, and dedicated member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church until it closed and a current member of Houlka United Methodist Church.

Ed was a retired hardware and building supply sales representative for Conley Supply Company in Corinth and a former Funeral Director Assistant of Houston Funeral Home.

He enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and keeping his yard.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home with Dr. Randy Rinehart and Bro Mike Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM the day of service at the funeral home. Houston Funeral Home is in charge of service.

He is survived by his spouse of 78 years, Dorothy Nell Dunkin of Houston, MS; Five nephews, Willie (Peggy) Dunkin, James (Millette) Dunkin, Mack (Shelia) Dunkin, Don (Carmen) Dunkin, Wayne (Pat) Dunkin; Special nephews, Thomas (Mackie) May, Wayne (Ira) Dupree, James (Darlene) Dupree.

He was proceeded in death by this parents; three brothers, Clifton, David, and Marvin Dunkin. Two sisters, Gertrude Dunkin and his twin sister Ellen McCluney.

Pallbearers will be Jd Norman, Carl H. Daniel, Louis Chandler, Charlie Porter, Russell Carnathon, and Jerry Foster.

Honorary Pallbearers are Brian Lacey, Richard Fitts, Curtis Flarerty, Zane Thomas and Carl Daniel.
