Dwight Griffin, Sr., age 92, passed away January 16, 2024 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. He was born May 1, 1931 to Virdie Isaac Griffin and Monte Kathleen Wimberly Griffin in Houston, MS. He was a member of Nettleton Presbyterian Church and owned his own retail business for many years.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Houston Funeral Home with Marjorie Griffin and Rev. Jack Inmon officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until time of service. Burial will be at Elzey Cemetery. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.

Pallbearers will be Mike Juckes, Andy Kilgore, Jeff Smith, Chris Lewis with Frankie Tackett as an honorary pallbearer.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie Jo Griffin; his daughters, Sylvia (Cary) Sutphin of Starkville, MS, Pam  (Rick) Lewis of Lexington, KY; his son, Dwight (Susan) Griffin of Tupelo, MS; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Carolyn Martin of Walls, MS, Linda Alford of Tupelo, MS, Kathy (Steve) Davidson of Olive Branch, MS; and his brother Jerry (Martha) Griffin of Tupelo, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virdie and Kathleen Griffin and his brother, Dwayne Griffin.

He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
