Douglas Alan Blakeney, known to many as Doug, passed away at home on August 26, 2026, at the age of 57. He was born on August 29, 1968, in Hamilton, Mississippi.

Doug will be remembered with love by those who knew him. He earned his high school diploma and went on to work with Steel Pro, where he spent part of his working life. His life was marked by the steady presence he held for his family and the memories he leaves behind.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 2:00 PM with Bro. Johnny Cherry officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of service, all at Houston Funeral Home. Burial will be at Macedonia Cemetery. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the Blakeney Family. 

He is survived by his daughter, Julie Blakeney, and by his granddaughter, Milani Dedeaux, who carry forward his memory with love. He is also survived by his brothers, Eddie Blakeney and Kenneth Blakeney. May they find comfort in the bond they shared with him and in the lasting place he holds in their hearts.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Martha Blakeney, and by his brother, Michael Blakeney.
