Griffin, Dorothy - Houston- Dorothy Dot Lee Griffin, 86, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017, at Floy Dyer Manor in Houston, MS. She was born September 20, 1930 in Corinth, Mississippi to Charlie Wheeler Lee and Willie Jefferson Sims. Dot was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and was a waitress at the Mug- N- Cone for 29 years.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 21, 2017 Parkway Baptist Church in Houston, MS with Dr. Randy Rinehart and Rev. Billy Pierce officiating.
Burial will be at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Vardaman, Mississippi.
Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Carol Griffin of Houston, her sons, Billy Walker Griffin of Houston, Steve (Cindy) Griffin of Houston, and David (Rhonda) Griffin of Houston, MS, sisters, Tommie (Billy) Lee Pierce of Benton, La., and Jeffery Lee Rodgers of Oxford, MS, and grandchildren, Stephanie Rose Mitchell, and Christopher Walker Griffin, and great-grandchildren, Kinzley Claire Griffin.
Dorothy Griffin is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence (Mutt) Griffin, her two brothers, Edward Wheeler ( Buck) Lee, and James O`Neal Lee, her five sisters, Kate Alice Holder, Betty Calvi, Nancy Thompson, Bobbie Harris, and Mary Lee and grandchild, John Walker Griffin.
Visitation will be Saturday May 20, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. to until 7:00 P.M. at Houston Funeral Home in Houston, MS.
