David Ralph Gregory, 82, of Houston MS passed away peacefully on August 25th, 2024, at Sunshine Nursing Home in Pontotoc, Mississippi. David was born on April 21st, 1942, to Thomas and Mae Gregory and spent the majority of his life in Houston MS. He was the quintessential example of hard work and dedication both personally and professionally working long hours as a mechanic and later an auto mechanic instructor at both Houston Vocational Center and Corinth, Mississippi where he found his passion teaching students. When he wasn't working, David loved being outdoors especially growing beautiful roses, deer hunting and tinkering with old cars.

He is survived by a brother, John Gregory (Janet) of Collierville, Tennessee), sister Rita Ann Traylor of Braxton, Mississippi and three children, Susan Cockrell (Stuart) of Baldwyn, Mississippi, Beth Gooch (Lan) of Saltillo, Mississippi;  Mike Gregory (Kerri) of Fairhope, Alabama as well as 9 grandchildren, Taylor Rucker (Matthew) of Virginia Beach, VA, Haley kemp (Edward) Baldwyn, Mississippi, Tucker Bailey, Nashville, Tn, Katherine Kennedy (Dan) Ocean Springs, Mississippi), Jordan Mey (Bobby), Traverse City, Michigan, Jamie Carag (Kyle), Mobile, AL, Gates Riley, Fairhope, AL, Gareth Gregory (Fairhope, AL), Mary Grace Gregory (Fairhope, AL), and 3 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lynne McKnight Gregory.

A funeral service celebrating David's life will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Houston Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Taylor officiating. Visitation to start at 11:00 followed by service at Noon.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka, Mississippi. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the Gregory Family.

Pallbearers will be Lan Gooch, Stuart Cockrell, Dan Kennedy, Edward Kemp, Matthew Rucker and Larry Bonds, Jr .  The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Lynne Gregory Memorial Scholarship fund at Blue Mountain College.
