Dan Ralph Sims, 95, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, at Fernbrooke Personal Care Home in Houston, Mississippi. He was born on November 10, 1922 in Paradise, Missouri to George Spratt Sims and Mary Alice Wallis. He was a Construction Superintendent for MaHarrey- Houston Construction of Memphis, and a member of Houlka First Baptist Church.

The Funeral Service will be Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Houlka First Baptist Church in Houlka, Mississippi with Rev. David Blackwell officiating.

Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka, Mississippi.

Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his daughters, Judy (Jackie) Houser of Houston, Joyce (David) Westmoreland of Houlka, MS., Jane (Tom Lofton) Dendy of Ridgeland, MS., and Dr. Tammy (Todd) Sanders of Brandon, MS., and his two sons, Harry Sims of Houlka, MS., and Jerry (Debbie) Sims of Houlka, MS., his sister, Mary Brightwell of Farrellview, MO., seventeen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Sims is preceded in death by his wife, Edith Barnett Sims, his mother and father, 8 brothers, 2 sisters, and one daughter-in-law, Eloise Corder Sims.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Houlka First Baptist Church in Houlka, Mississippi.
