Griffin, Corene - Houston- Corene Hardin Griffin, 92, passed away October 4, 2017, at her home in Houston, Mississippi. Mrs. Griffin was born on June 20, 1925 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Thomas Noah Hardin and Mary Elizabeth Doss Hardin. Mrs. Corene Griffin was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Woodland, where she was the oldest member.
Funeral Service will be at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Houston Funeral Home with Bro. Wade Mathis officiating.
Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Woodland, MS.
Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her son, Wesley (Libby) Griffin of Brandon, MS., her brother, Darrell (Shirley) Hardin of Houston, her grandchildren, Wade (Katie) Griffin of Oxford, MS., and Jeffrey (Robyn) Griffin of Collierville, TN., her great-grandchildren, Liam Griffin, and Charlotte Griffin, and many special nieces and nephews.
Also, the family appreciates the devotion of her caregivers that took care of her this past year, Betty Gregory, Ella Brownlee, and Rosie Hillhouse.
Corene Griffin is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walker Wayne Griffin, her son, Jerry Wayne Griffin, her sisters, Francis Gautney, Colette Flowers, her brothers, Ottis Hardin, Oliver Hardin, T.A. Hardin, and Wilford Hardin.
Visitation will be Friday, October 6, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Houston Funeral Home in Houston, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Dale Hardin, Tommy Hardin, Michael Dale Hardin, Jeffery Griffin, Wade Griffin, and Ron Hardin
