Obituary

Calvin Redwine, age 65, passed away on Sunday, August 10th, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Calvin Ray Redwine on November 29th, 1959, in Lambert, MS to Bobby Ray and Martha Frances Redwine.

Calvin was the epitome of hard work, dedication, and love.  Being the oldest of six boys and growing up in the delta, he took the role of big brother seriously.  He quit school to help his mother and father start a business to help pay the bills that is still going today.  A skilled mechanic, Calvin spent 50 years of his life selling parts and fixing vehicles working with his brothers, wife, and son.  He cooked fish at his shop on Fridays for anybody that was hungry.  This eventually blossomed into opening Pop's Family Diner, and he filled it with family and friends every weekend.  His other hobbies included fishing, hunting, and racing.  He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church, a volunteer firefighter at Mantee Volunteer Fire Dept, and Master Mason and a perpetual member of Mathiston-Double Springs Lodge Number 184.

Beyond his work, Calvin was a devoted husband to his wife, a loving father to his children, and a proud grandfather to his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Lee; one son, Marc Redwine (Stephanie) of Mantee; one daughter, Michelle Norman (JD) of Houston; his mother, Martha Frances Redwine; four grand-daughters, Katie, Hailee (Barrett), Emily, and Shelby;  three grandsons, Brantley, Avery (Emma), and Jacob; two great-grandsons, Dalton and Silas;  five brothers, Steve Redwine (Chandra) of Leland, MS, Harold Redwine (Tammy) of Carrollton, MS, Billy Redwine (Wendy) of Leland, MS, Timothy "Pee-Wee" Redwine (Jacki) of Cleveland, MS, and Danny Redwine (Kristy) of Cleveland, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Calvin is preceded in death by his father, Bobby, and one nephew, Sheldon.

Calvin's legacy is one of integrity, hard work, and love.  His family invites all who knew and loved him to a visitation followed by a funeral service on Wednesday, August 13th, 2025, from 10:00-3:00 at Parkway Baptist Church in Houston, MS.  Masonic Burial Rites will be performed to conclude the service.  In Calvin's memory, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society and Hope Lodge.
