Brenda Joyce Robertson Woodruff passed away Sept 28,2026 at the age of 85 at Trend Healthcare in Houston, MS. She was born July 13, 1941, to Robert Clifton "Bob'' Robertson and Mary Ruth Smith Robertson. She enjoyed country living and made every step her daddy made until she married Frank in 1959. They had 2 daughters, Kim and Julie. Brenda was a wonderful loving wife and the best mother you could ask for. She was blessed with four grandchildren and one great granddaughter. They were her pride and joy, as she would say. Brenda attended Houston Schools where she played basketball and ran track. After marrying and having her girls, she was a stay at home mom for several years. Brenda then went to work at MPI, Leggett and Platt for 43 years. She always enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and golf became her favorite sport. "It is never hot on the golf course" she often said. Working in her yard also made her happy. She loved to plant flowers and rake leaves. Above all those hobbies, Brenda loved the Lord and her church. She was an active and faithful member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She loved singing, worshiping, teaching and being involved in all activities of the church. Her last activity at church was packing Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes. She would smile and say, "some little girl is going to be so happy". She was always heard saying " how does anyone make it without the Lord". Brenda is survived by her girls Kim (Mark) Marshall, of Houston, MS and Julie (Karl) Dee of Madison, MS, her sister Carolyn (Billy Carl) Irwin of Houston, MS, four grandchildren Miranda Marshall, Austin Marshall, Caroline (Joseph) Simpson, Colson Dee and great granddaughter Summer Kate Simpson. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Woodruff, her parents and Brother Bobby Robertson. Brenda will be remembered by her sweet smile and kind spirit, love for her family and church and her Lord and Savior. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 1, 2026, at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Woodland, MS. Visitation will be held from 12:30pm- 2:00pm and funeral begins at 2:00pm in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Chickasaw Memorial Gardens in Houston, MS. Serving as Pallbearers are Tony McCombs, Colson Dee, Joseph Simpson, Austin Marshall, Heath Bennett, Shane Bennett, Tony Uhiren.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Operation Christmas Child shoe box fund at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, 906 Cr 416, Woodland, MS 39776.
